"It's Notre Dame. I don't think I should say anything more than that."
It's as simple as that for 65-year-old P.T. Brent who came all the way from Hawaii to South Bend to be a part of the Notre Dame football fantasy camp.
"I would have gone half way around the world and paid triple. I'm trying to tell you, but you're not getting it---this is Notre Dame."
Brent is a diehard Irish football fan who was accepted into Notre Dame in the 1960s. But he couldn't afford to attend.
Now that he's a successful businessman in Hawaii, Brent wouldn't miss the chance to live out a dream---even if he had never played football before.
"From the day I arrived on campus, I became intoxicated just with the atmosphere,"
Brent said.
Brent is wearing the number 29 for a reason. That's his 'camp' age. Even the fantasy camp program lists him as being 29-years-old.
"This entire camp---everything is authentic: The real field, the real stadium, the real coaching staff, the real Fighting Irish---except one thing---possible lack of athletic prowess."
The camp wrapped up with a Blue-Gold game Saturday at the Stadium. The blue team won 6-0 when the game's only touchdown came in the final 39 seconds of regulation.
